The normal septic tanks produce effluent with a high percentage of pathogens. The high pathogen count in drinking water will affect the health and cognitive development of children. Worldwide, 5.3% of all deaths and 6.3% of disabilities are caused by poor sanitation, hygiene and water. One in every ten deaths in India is linked to poor sanitation and hygiene. Releaf brings to you BIO TANKS, Highly Innovative technology for the disposal of human waste in an eco-friendly manner. All the disease-causing pathogens are totally eliminated, and the effluent can be drained to any surface without any environmental hazard making this Innovation stand out from other common Toilets.

Human waste treatment is a colossal problem for our environment today. Without proper sewage disposal, harmful substances can pollute the environment through wastewater. Septic and Bio septic tanks are built and installed at homes to deal with this issue. However, there are some notable variations between septic and Bio-septic tanks.

Both tanks house containers made of concrete, plastic, steel, or fiberglass. These tanks are designed to prevent harmful sewage water from entering the environment. One of the biggest differences between a septic and a bio-septic tank is that a bio variation is an eco-friendly option. In addition, the bio septic tanks can also aid in recycling water and producing biogas. For instance, Re-leaf manufactures durable bio-septic tanks that last longer and aid in the recycling of waste.

With the growing population of our world today, sewage production is also increasing at a staggering rate. Moreover, nowadays toxic pollutants, plastic, medical waste, and other dangerous elements might be present in the wastewater generated at homes. In such a case, it becomes more crucial to aim for better sewage treatment to safeguard our ecosystem

What is a Bio Septic Tank?

A bio septic tank is an eco-friendly sewage treatment system. It uses bacteria and anaerobic digestion in an oxygen-free tank to treat wastewater. On top of that, these types of tanks lead to useful bi-products like biogas and recycled water. It helps to increase the cost-efficiency of this waste treatment system.

How does Bio septic tank work?

When the sewage water enters the bio tanks, the solid and liquid waste get separated in different chambers of the tank. This is because the solid waste drops down to the bottom layer of the tank and is broken down with the help of natural bacteria in the tank. These bacteria digest the solid waste, leaving behind water that flows into another chamber. The remaining wastewater is recycled with the help of the aerobic bacterial reaction leading to bi-products like treated water, carbon dioxide, and methane gases. This reaction ensures oxygen elimination leading to the absence of stench. The recycled water in the chamber can be easily used for gardening while the bio-gas can be utilized for cooking.

Advantages of Bio Septic Tanks

The advantages of a bio septic tank are manifold. In a country like India, where approximately 62 million tonnes of municipal solid waste is generated annually, sustainable waste management is paramount. Bio tanks mitigate this issue by offering a safer, more convenient alternative to traditional septic tanks. They eliminate the need for manual waste removal or scavenging, thereby reducing environmental pollution and social challenges associated with manual labor.

Moreover, bio-septic tanks are cost-effective, allowing for significant savings on water and electricity bills. Recycled water can be used for non-potable purposes, while biogas generated can be harnessed for electricity generation or cooking, further reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.

Maintenance & upkeep requirements

There is no need for mechanical pumping or manual scavenging to maintain bio tanks. Bio tanks also come with maintenance-friendly inspection chambers, making it easier to maintain the tank for a longer duration. These tanks are designed with sturdy materials, ensuring a longer life and reducing damage to the environment.

Bio Septic Tank Price

Price considerations are also favorable, with Re-leaf’s bio-septic tanks starting from 25,000 INR. This competitive pricing makes eco-friendly waste management accessible to a wide range of consumers, further incentivizing the adoption of bio-septic technology.

Comparison Chart

Septic Tank Bio-septic Tank
Cost-effectiveness No Yes
Environmental impact More Less
Need for manual sludge removal Yes No
Generation of eco-friendly bi-products No Yes
Strong odor Yes No

In conclusion, adopting a bio septic tank represents a significant step towards sustainable waste management. Not only do these tanks mitigate environmental pollution and water contamination, but they also offer substantial cost savings and resource recycling opportunities. With Re-leaf’s innovative solutions, the transition to eco-friendly waste management practices is within reach for individuals and communities alike.
